Brazil will probably soon have its public Lula TV

Brazilian President Lula da Silva appears to be quietly aiming to build a state TV propaganda apparatus.

His Workers' Party (PT) in Brazil has formally submitted an application to the Ministry of Communications seeking a concession for public television and radio broadcasting channels.

Party president and deputy Gleisi Hoffmann (PT-PR) and the party's national secretary of communication, deputy Jilmar Tatto (PT-SP), signed the request.

The approval for the concession must come from President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva.
