Brazil will pay off this year debts of 500 million dollars with multilateral agencies

The Brazilian government assured today that it intends to pay this year's debts amounting to R$2.6 billion (US$500 million) that it maintains with several multilateral organizations to reinforce its commitment with global forums, official sources informed.

According to what the Ministry of Planning disclosed this Thursday, Brazil must pay the United Nations R$480 million (US$91 million), and UN peace missions will be born this March.

In addition, Brazil must also pay money to the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD), which could threaten its process of joining the Paris-based entity.
