Brazil's President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva promised Monday that all those responsible for the events of Jan. 8 would go to prison during a Workers' Day event on May 1 in São Paulo.
"All the people who tried to carry out the coup will be imprisoned because this country is a true democracy," Lula emphasized in the event organized by eight trade unions, during which he announced some new government measures.
