SÃO PAULO, BRASIL - Summertime is officially on in the Southern Hemisphere. In most places of Brazil, the season that started on December 21st alludes to high temperatures, blue skies, sudden - and intense - rainfalls, and sunlight during most of the day.

Many people (especially tourists) find Brazilian cities like Rio or Salvador especially attractive during summertime (when most outdoor cultural events happen).
