Fifty-four percent of Brazilians approve of the way President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva governs, who on Monday completed 100 days in office after assuming his third term on January 1, according to a poll released yesterday, Tuesday.

According to the poll conducted by the Ipec polling institute and published by the Globo television network, 37 percent do not approve of the way the founder of the Workers’ Party (PT) governs. In comparison, 9 percent did not want to or did not know how to answer.

The sample showed that 39 percent of Brazilians rate Lula’s management in the first 100 days of government as excellent or good, compared to 26 percent who consider it wrong or lousy.
