An old plane becomes luxury accommodation by the sea and can be rented
An old Boeing 737, already retired from the skies, will become from April another luxury accommodation option by the sea in Bali, Indonesia.
Named the “Private Jet Villa,” the new retreat is 150 meters above sea level on a cliff on Nyang Nyang beach.
Owner Felix Demin revealed to American CNN that daily rates would cost from US$7,000.

The jet, which was part of the Mandala Airlines fleet, was bought by Demin in 2021.
Already the owner of the Bubble Hotel in Bali, he gave up using the aircraft for his own travels and opted to expand his hotel services.
“Even before I bought it, I thought it was possible to convert [the aircraft] into something unique. So I decided to focus on creating the villa.”
The first major challenge in this endeavor was the transportation to the cliff: all the planning took about two months but removing it was a task of five full days, with expert support and police escort.

“We had to take it apart after consulting with the Boeing team. We loosened 50,000 screws,” he said.
Once reassembled at its current address, the plane was, in a way, torn apart again.
This is because its entire interior was removed for the renovation and redesign of the site, which is now accessible via a stairway leading to one of the wings and, from there, to the main entrance.

Currently, the jet is not yet ready for guests, but its transformation journey has been shared on social media and attracts tourists to the site in Nyang Nyang.
