ExpoRio Turismo 2026 — Final Day

LAGOON — LAGOA

The 5th edition closes tonight. All 92 municipalities, the boulevard gastronômico along the Lagoa waterfront, artisanato, Vivências do Rio sensory space, and the #TônoRio multimedia experience — all in their final hours. Mumuzinho headlines the closing concert at 19h (shows area opens 18h). Free entry. This is a Sunday — doors open at 10h, three hours earlier than weekday start times.

Museums & Exhibitions

MAR — No Martins Now Open

PRAÇA MAUÁ

No Martins: Sortilégios de desvio opened yesterday — the first institutional solo for the painter of Black Brazilian life. Now on view alongside the 36th Bienal de São Paulo itinerance (19 artists) and Guilhermina Augusti‘s first institutional solo. Three exhibitions at the MAR. R$20/R$10 today (free Tuesdays and Saturdays in March).

Praça Mauá 5, Centro. Sun 11h–18h (last entry 17h). Metrô: Uruguaiana → VLT Parada dos Museus.

CCBB — Vetores-Vertentes Penultimate Day

Vetores-Vertentes: Fotógrafas do Pará closes tomorrow (Monday). Today is the penultimate day — 160 works by 11 Amazonian women photographers. If you have not yet visited, today is more comfortable than tomorrow’s closing-day crowds. Viva Mauricio (immersive Turma da Mônica, ground floor, free) continues through April 13.

R. Primeiro de Março 66, Centro. Wed–Mon 9h–20h. Free. Closed Tuesdays. Metrô: Uruguaiana → VLT Parada dos Museus.

MAM Rio — Daniel Buren Voile/Toile

Eleven vertical-striped Optimist sails hung in finishing order — the French artist’s first Brazilian presentation. Through April 12. The sculpture garden and permanent collection are also open. Free admission.

Av. Infante Dom Henrique 85, Parque do Flamengo. Sun 10h–18h. Free. Metrô: Cinelândia or Largo do Machado.

04Getting AroundTRANSPORT

For ExpoRio at Lagoon: No rodízio on Sundays. Metrô Line 1 to Jardim de Alah or taxi/rideshare to the Lagoon complex. The venue fills from 17h onward for Mumuzinho — arrive before 16h for a comfortable experience of the food stalls and exhibits.

MAR + CCBB morning route: Both museums open at 9h (CCBB) and 11h (MAR) in Centro. VLT Parada dos Museus connects them in five minutes. Visit the CCBB Vetores-Vertentes first (9h), then walk to the MAR (11h) for No Martins, then head to Lagoon for ExpoRio from 14h.

05Where to EatFOOD

At ExpoRio: Last chance for the boulevard gastronômico — regional producers from all 12 tourist regions of Rio state. The Lagoa waterfront setting at sunset is the best food experience of the month. Arrive hungry.

Centro lunch: Between the CCBB and MAR morning visits, Travessa do Comércio and Rua do Ouvidor have botequins open on Sundays, though with reduced hours. The MAR café serves light meals.

06Practical InfoESSENTIALS

Diesel subsidy MP: The government is expected to issue the medida provisória formalising the diesel price subsidy on Monday or Tuesday. This follows the Finance Ministry’s confirmation on Friday. Watch for pump-price adjustments in the coming weeks.

Semana Santa ahead: Sexta-feira Santa (April 3) is a public holiday. Markets and B3 closed. Plan any trading or banking for earlier in the week. The MAR, MAM, and CCBB maintain normal hours on Good Friday.

Sunday full-day route: CCBB Vetores-Vertentes (9h) → MAR No Martins + Bienal (11h) → taxi to Lagoon → ExpoRio gastronomy + regional exhibits (14h) → Mumuzinho at 19h. Three museums and a free concert — the biggest single-day cultural programme of the month.

Tomorrow is the last call: Vetores-Vertentes closes Monday. If you cannot make it today, Monday (9h–20h) is the absolute final chance for 160 works by Amazonian women photographers at the CCBB. Free admission.
