World’s largest commercial jetliner, A380, back in operation with enhanced capacity and fuel efficiency

The Airbus A380, recognized as the world's largest commercial passenger plane, has returned to service with Lufthansa after a three-year hiatus.

Featuring a seating capacity of 509 passengers, this massive aircraft consumes 20 percent less fuel compared to smaller jets currently in service.

The recently reactivated A380 took off from Munich, Germany, headed for Boston, USA.

Lufthansa, in the thick of the Covid-19 pandemic, grounded its entire A380 fleet in September 2021, citing high costs and excessive size.
