Major tourism investment and first six-star hotel set to boost economy of Brazil’s Ceará state

The northeastern region of Brazil, specifically Ceará, is set to benefit from one of the most substantial private investments in the state’s recent tourism history.

Around sixty investors have committed to a large-scale tourism project in the small kite paradise of Preá, known for its abundant water sports opportunities.

The project comprises a luxury residential complex, the six-star Anantara Hotel, and a club named Wind House, with 70 units.

Collectively, these ventures will create approximately 2,000 jobs in the region, including 500 direct and 1,500 indirect jobs, spanning from construction to operations.

To fund the venture, investors from the Carnaúba Group are investing a total of 530 million reais.

This includes investments in Vila Carnaúba, the Anantara hotel’s condominium, branded residences, the Wind House Club, and social projects geared towards community integration and environmental protection.

The construction of Vila Carnaúba, spread over 516,000 m² with a 400-meter beachfront, will employ 250 locals.

Wind House, situated on a 107,000 m² plot of land, will offer 70 residential units with flexible ownership terms.

The Anantara Preá, built by the Carnaúba Group, will be Ceará’s first six-star hotel and is set to begin operations in 2026.

The Thai group Minor will operate the establishment, which currently operates 550 hotels worldwide.

This significant investment aligns with Ceará’s Department of Tourism’s aim to boost the region’s tourism activities.

The new developments, especially the luxurious Anantara hotel, are expected to herald a new era for the state’s tourism sector.
