Costa Rica’s Tourism Institute (ICT) announced the conclusion of its Central Pacific cruise season with the docking of 263 ships, carrying 91,000 tourists.
This reaffirms Costa Rica’s status as a prominent tourist destination.
From September 2022 to July 2023, the cruise season saw vessels arriving at five approved Pacific ports: Puntarenas, Caldera, Quepos, Golfito, and Playas del Coco.
Notably, 40% of the visiting vessels were from the expedition and luxury category.
The influx of cruise ships has generated income and employment in the port cities and improved their inhabitants’ standard of living.
