During a presentation of the Geopolitical Map of Sanctions to the Group of Friends in Defense of the United Nations Charter, she pointed out that 58% of these measures were put into effect during the tenure of former President Donald Trump.
According to Rodríguez, even amidst the global pandemic, there was an intensification of economic hostilities toward Venezuela.
She referenced recent comments from the former US President, who alluded that Venezuela was on the brink of collapse by the end of his term, expressing that “we would have taken it over, we would have obtained all that oil.”
The Vice President asserted that there was a consistent intent to inflict damage and hardship on the Venezuelan population.
She was joined at this event by Yván Gil, the Venezuelan Foreign Minister, and William Castillo, the Vice-Minister of Anti-Blockade Policies of the Ministry of Economy, Finance, and Foreign Trade.
