New tourist border crossing between Argentina and Chile enabled

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – On March 14, the border transit between Argentina and Chile was enabled through the San Francisco pass, located in the province of Catamarca, which joins Las Grutas and Copiapó.

The measure has been established by the government of Argentina by an administrative decision signed by the Chief of Cabinet, Juan Manzur, thus incorporating a new international crossing point.

Likewise, in another administrative decision, the transit between Argentina and Brazil was enabled through a border crossing located in Corrientes: Puerto Alvear – Puerto Itaquí, in addition to the local airport.

In the specific case of the border crossings with Chile, the situation of the rest of the complexes has been published:

Cristo Redentor: Open for cargo and as a safe corridor for tourism.

Futaleufú: Open as a secure corridor for tourism.

Huemules: Open for cargo and as a safe corridor for tourism.

Integración Austral: Open for cargo and as a safe corridor for tourism, with a daily entry quota of 200 people.

Jama: Open only for cargo.

Jeinimeni: Open for cargo and as a safe corridor for tourism, with a daily entry quota of one hundred people.

Pehuenche: Open only for loads.

Pino Hachado: Open for loads and as a safe corridor for tourism.

San Sebastián: Open for cargo, Argentineans, and residents traveling for tourism to the province of Santa Cruz.
