The three bodies were found under a collapsed house, where rescuers searched for more people.

Several children were hospitalized for treatment of injuries sustained when they ran away in panic.

Crowds lined the streets after the quake, fearing aftershocks.

Nearly a year before, a 7.2-magnitude quake struck southern Haiti, with Les Cayes as the hardest-hit area, killing more than 2,200 people.

Some people who lost their homes last August still live in camps.

In 2010, a magnitude 7 quake near the densely populated capital Port-au-Prince killed at least 200,000 people and left extensive damage to buildings.
