Argentina’s ruling Frente de Todos party will now be known as Unión por la Patria (Union for the Homeland).
This decision comes after a series of focus groups and meetings, aiming to underscore political unity amid some differences between President Alberto Fernández and Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner.
The newly rebranded party is set to participate in the upcoming mandatory primary elections on August 13 with at least five candidates, including former Buenos Aires governor Daniel Scioli and current Chief of Staff Agustín Rossi.
The winner of these primaries will then compete in the general elections on October 22.
