The United States special envoy for climate, John Kerry, met with the Minister of Environment, Marina Silva, on Wednesday (28) and said that the Amazon is an extraordinary treasure that belongs to everyone.
His visit to Brazil marks a narrowing of "environmental agendas" between the Brazilian and the American governments.
On the other hand, the opposition fears that Lula's government is collaborating with an international articulation to deny Brazil the possibility of developing the Amazon sustainably.
"The Amazon is a test for all humanity," said the American.
He said his meeting with Marina shows the renewal of the commitment . . .
