Brazil’s president, Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT, progressive-globalist), is scheduled to travel to China on Monday (10).

Lula’s trip was scheduled for last week but had to be postponed due to pneumonia.

Lula should disembark in Shanghai and proceed to Beijing, where he will meet with dictator Xi Jinping. Lula’s return is scheduled for the 14th of this month.

The president considers the meeting with the leader to be “extremely important.”

In the view of former Foreign Minister Ernesto Araújo, the mission to the communist country would be much more to “give a signal to the world that the country is aligned with the Chinese regime.”

“The visit would be pro forma, it is a sign to the world, but it does not need a visit to continue the Chinese penetration of the Brazilian economy and institutions,” points out the former Foreign Minister.

“The visit would only be a celebration of our dependence and vassalage to China, but the mechanisms of this vassalage are already in place,” reflects the diplomat, who currently teaches in Hartford, in the United States.
