New National Logistics Plan foresees handling of up to 104% more cargo in Brazil ports

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - The Brazilian government launched the National Logistics Plan (PNL) 2035, which states that "investment in intermodality is the way to transform the country's transportation matrix, increasing efficiency, safety, and sustainability, with the reduction of logistics costs in the movement of cargo and passengers, and the volume of gases emitted into the environment."

The plan states that transportation infrastructure and services must keep pace with demand by 2035.

It calls for growth of the rail network by over 61% in length; road capacity by over 93%; a 53% increase in the number of airports operating scheduled . . .
