Lula invites Uruguayan president to G20 summit in Brazil

Brazilian President Luiz Inácio "Lula" da Silva has invited Uruguay's conservative President Luis Lacalle Pou, in a nod to the international right, to accompany him to the G20 summit that Brazil will host in 2024. The information was reported by Agencia EFE.

Uruguayan Foreign Minister Francisco Bustillo made the statement Wednesday at a press conference a few hours after returning from Brasilia, where he met with Brazilian Chancellor Mauro Vieira.

"This is a clear demonstration of Brazil's perception of what Uruguay is and the importance that Uruguay is beginning to acquire today on the international scene," Bustillo . . .
