‘Farce of the left’, says Bolsonaro, about alleged disregard for Yanomami

Former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro (PL) countered, on Sunday 22, President Lula’s speeches, about his government’s alleged disregard for indigenous populations.

The day before Bolsonaro spoke, after a visit with the Minister of Health, Nísia Trindade, to a Yanomami territory in Roraima, President Lula da Silva blamed his predecessor for the “abandonment” of the indigenous people and declared a health emergency in the territory.

In a post on Telegram, Bolsonaro classified Lula da Silva’s statements as “another farce of the left” and published a text from the Ministry of Health (MS) on December 20, with an assessment of the actions of the ministry in indigenous communities.
