RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Last year’s figures at the Imperial Museum, popularly known as the Imperial Palace, located in Petrópolis, in the state of Rio de Janeiro, were outstanding. Visits in 2019 totaled over 446,000 people, an historical record.
So far this year, 6,925 people have visited the venue.
The numbers are expected to remain high for 2020. The plan is for additional guided tours and an extension of the program.
The Imperial Museum is housed in the former Summer Palace of Brazilian Emperor Dom Pedro II. The museum’s collection comprises works linked to the Brazilian monarchy, including furniture, documents, works of art and personal belongings of members of the imperial family.
