Former FBI agent testified before Congress: “The Biden administration and the FBI have created an Orwellian system to silence the opposition” 

History was made in the US Congress this Thursday after the Republican majority subpoenaed former FBI agent Garret O’Boyle, who leaked classified information from the agency and exposed the political persecution of opponents under the Biden administration.

Along with former FBI agents Steve Friend and Marcus Allen, O’Boyle was subpoenaed by Republican Congressman Jim Jordan to testify before the House Political Persecution Committee and tells what he saw and why he decided to leak what he leaked.

“Too many in the FBI are not willing to sacrifice for the good of the Nation.”

“They see what happens to whistleblowers and do nothing.”

“How the FBI destroys their careers, suspends them and their security clearance under false pretenses, and pays for silence,” he said.

“This is by design. It creates an Orwellian atmosphere that silences opposition and discussion.”

“I could not knowingly and silently continue down this path without speaking out against the use of the FBI to persecute opponents as I witnessed,” he said.

“All I wanted to do was serve my country by stopping the bad guys and protecting the innocent.”

“To my chagrin, the bad guys have started running parts of the government, making it difficult to continue to serve this nation.”

O’Boyle saw with his own eyes the excesses of the FBI leadership in the investigations into January 6, 2021, protests on Capitol Hill and in the investigations of parents who spoke out at school board meetings across the country against gender ideology.

As O’Boyle recounted, when he began to raise his hand because he disagreed with what the FBI was doing, the agency focused on destroying his life.

First, the FBI decided to move him and his family from Kansas to Virginia, then suspended him without pay but would not let him leave the state, so he was forced to rely on charity to survive.

Jim Jordan asked the three men about their reactions to the FBI’s activities against them, and all insisted that they lived up to the oaths they had taken when they went to work for the agency.

“We swore by the Constitution, not the current management of the FBI.”

“There are no Gods in this discussion. There is nothing but the Constitution,” O’Boyle asserted.

All agreed that “the full weight of the federal government” fell on them, particularly when the FBI sent a letter to committee members informing them that the agents’ security clearances had been revoked. “Of course, they timed it perfectly,” Jordan said.

“It’s in the letter sent to us yesterday. We knew they were going to do it. We knew it was going to happen that way.”

They also testified that their former colleagues did not reach out to them for support after they were upset.

“I know for a fact that my former supervisor met with my team shortly after I was suspended and told them that I was going to be arrested, fired, and charged.’

So if that’s not creepy, I don’t know what is,” O’Boyle said.

O’Boyle said the actions against him followed his testimony in a proceeding where he was being investigated internally that the FBI prioritized investigations against pro-life groups at the behest of the Biden administration following the 2022 Dobbs v. Jackson decision that overturned the Roe v. Wade decision on legal abortion.

Meanwhile, Friend said the persecution began when he filed a complaint with the Office of Special Counsel, saying he was suspended after expressing concerns about the FBI’s manipulation of crime statistics.

He also filed complaints about the agency’s treatment of the January 6 defendants and its use of SWAT teams.

The hearing was organized by Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, and follows the release of special prosecutor John Durham’s report that revealed the FBI lacked evidence to open its investigation into former President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign.
