Venezuelan government disapproves of Antony Blinken’s statements on elections

Delcy Rodríguez, the Executive Vice President of Venezuela, has expressed disagreement with the remarks made by U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken regarding the upcoming presidential elections in Venezuela.

On the occasion of Venezuela’s independence act’s 212th anniversary, the White House spokesperson stated that the United States firmly supports holding free and fair elections for the Venezuelan people.

In response, the Venezuelan Vice President regarded it as a “great day” to address those who, with insolence, attempt to provide opinions on matters solely concerning Venezuelans.

“Our people also desire fair elections free from sanctions, interference, and aggression. Long live Venezuela’s perpetual independence,” the vice president stated on Twitter.

Diosdado Cabello, the chief spokesman and first vice president of Venezuela’s ruling United Socialist Party, also criticized Blinken for interfering in the internal affairs of Venezuelans.

“Imperialism, the UN, the EU—they all stand against the homeland and our people.”

“They have no moral authority to make demands. Antony Blinken speaks on behalf of imperialism, the executioner pretending to be concerned about his victims. Venezuela demands elections free from sanctions,” emphasized Cabello.
