Uruguayan analysts raised their growth forecast for the local economy from 5.22 to 5.40 percent for 2022, according to the average of the Survey of Economic Expectations published today, Wednesday, by the Central Bank of Uruguay.

The December survey, which consults economists and financial sector institutions, showed a 5 percent increase in Gross Domestic Product (GDP) as the most pessimistic response and an increase of 5.80 percent as the most optimistic.

Uruguay’s economy expanded 3.7 percent in the third quarter of the year, compared to the same period in 2021, driven by trade and food supply growth, according to the bank’s December report.
