Bogotá and major cities in Colombia were filled with colors as people proudly marched on Sunday to raise awareness of LGTBI+ rights.

Participants expressed their pride in who they are and their desire to be recognized and respected.

The march aimed to defend and amplify the voices of those who face judgment and fear from society.

Rainbow flags, vibrant shirts, choreographed dances, and banners supporting the LGTBI+ community dominated the march.

Participants, including families with children and pets, showed their unwavering support.

With more than 20,000 marchers in the Colombian capital, the event featured chants and performances, symbolizing the determination to embrace individuality and demand acceptance.

Medellin and Cali also joined in the celebration, filling their streets with joy and advocacy during Pride marches.

The Trans Law project, a key focus of the event, seeks to guarantee the self-determination and rights of trans people in Colombia.

Its approval in Congress would establish the country as a reference for LGTBI+ rights.

The march participants emphasized the need for freedom and safety in expressing their true selves.

They shared their aspirations for equal job opportunities, rejecting discrimination and hoping for a future where everyone can live freely and happily.

The final march of the month, titled “I March Trans,” will continue the call for visibility and support for the demands of individuals with trans experiences, marking the culmination of Pride month celebrations in Colombia.
