Over 63,000 Venezuelan migrants register for historic opposition primaries

Over 63,000 Venezuelan migrants have registered to participate in internal opposition elections on October 22 by updating their information through a dedicated web portal.

These elections will determine a candidate to challenge the ruling party in the 2024 presidential elections.

Chile, Colombia, and the United States have the highest number of successful updates.

The web application for data updates was launched three weeks ago and will conclude on July 7. Venezuelans can vote in person at any of the 81 designated electoral centers.

Venezuelan organizations worldwide have assisted their compatriots in the registration process to prevent errors and system rejections.

Out of the 81 cities designated as voting centers, 64 have met the minimum requirement of 300 registered voters.

The data update platform is exclusively available to citizens over 18 years old who are already registered in the Electoral Registry.

The platform was activated on June 7 to ensure a smooth election process.
