Hard Rock Plans Mega Resort in Brazil’s Gramado

Gramado in Brazil will host the country’s largest Hard Rock resort. The hotel aims to open in 2027.

It will offer 858 rooms, five eateries, a spa, stores, and an event area. The estimated budget is R$1 billion or US$200 million.

The resort will cover about 143,000 square meters. Several companies are involved. Mundo Planalto leads the project. They partner with JFG, Argon, Toctao, and Grupo Feltrin.

On September 11, Alex Pariente toured the future site. He is the Senior Vice President of Hard Rock International.

Pariente says Gramado can attract tourists from around the world. With him were Martin Arauz, José Roberto Nunes, Lorena Leão, and Wesley Reis.

Arauz handles legal matters for Hard Rock. Nunes is the CEO of Mundo Planalto. Leão and Reis are also part of the Mundo Planalto team.

This is a 10% increase compared to 2022. These numbers are based on vehicle counts at toll gates.

Background

Gramado is a famous tourist city in Brazil’s southern region. Known for its German-like charm, it’s a hot spot for both local and global visitors.

Hard Rock’s decision to invest here fits the city’s ongoing development. As the area continues to grow, so does its need for upscale accommodations.

Tourism is a significant income source for Gramado. This project is seen as a positive move for the local economy.

A resort of this scale will likely create jobs and stimulate business. Hard Rock’s global brand may attract an international crowd, adding a new dimension to tourism here.

In recent years, Gramado has diversified its attractions. It offers a mix of old and new, from natural parks to tech museums.

The Hard Rock resort could become a centerpiece for a city on the rise. High-end projects like this often serve as catalysts for further development.
