Brasília celebrates 62nd anniversary with concerts and reopenings; in-person events back on calendar

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL - In-person events are back on the commemorative calendar after two years of lockdowns, isolation, fear frenzy, and public discussion about their meaningfulness and legitimacy is yet to come once all the facts are on the table.

Brasilia, the capital of Brazil, celebrates its 62nd anniversary this Thursday (Apr. 21). To mark the 2nd anniversary of the start of the Covid-19 pandemic, events will be held locally again after a 2-year hiatus.
