Eleven vertical-striped Optimist sails hung in finishing order — the French artist’s first Brazilian presentation. Closes April 12. The sculpture garden and permanent collection are also open. Free admission. With only 12 days remaining, visit this week if you have not yet seen it.

CCBB — Viva Mauricio

CENTRO

The immersive Turma da Mônica experience continues on the ground floor — free admission. Closes April 13. With Vetores-Vertentes now closed, Viva Mauricio is the CCBB’s sole headline exhibition. Good for families with children.

04Getting AroundTRANSPORT

For the MAM: Metrô Line 1 to Cinelândia or Largo do Machado, then walk through Parque do Flamengo (~15 min). Bring water and umbrella at 28°C/50% rain.

For the CCBB: Line 1 to Uruguaiana → VLT to Parada dos Museus. If attending a Brasileirão match tonight, check venue and transport early — stadium areas may have heavier traffic.

05Where to EatFOOD

Flamengo circuit: After the MAM, walk to Largo do Machado for per-kilo restaurants or Catete for traditional botequins. The MAM café serves light meals.

Jardim Botânico circuit: Combine the Mercedes Viegas and IBEU gallery visits with lunch on Rua J.J. Seabra. The neighbourhood’s restaurant scene is strongest on weekdays.
