Thursday at D-Edge means Moving — the deep house and tech house residency that has been the club’s weekly anchor since its founding. Moving starts at midnight and runs to sunrise on the Barra Funda riverfront, and its function in the São Paulo nightlife week is structural: it is the gateway to Friday’s Freak Chic and Saturday’s NAVE, the first night when the electronic circuit hums at full voltage. The Barra Funda venue — concrete, Tietê-adjacent, purpose-built for sound — is one of the most respected electronic rooms in Latin America. The lineup typically drops day-of on @dedgeclub. Thursday Moving draws the committed crowd: DJs, producers, the people who stay until sunrise and go to work the next morning. Tickets via Ingresse or Blueticket.

Tonight’s Salão is a standing baile, not a seated concert — and the combination on stage is one of the most compelling in Casa de Francisca’s March calendar. Trio Mana Flor — Carol Bahiense, Cimara Fróis and Talita del Collado — formed in 2008 in Itaúnas and won the FENFIT, the country’s largest forró festival. With sanfona, zabumba, triângulo and three-part vocal harmonies, the trio has spent 17 years reimagining MPB classics through forró arrangements: Caetano, Milton, Gal Costa, Gilberto Gil, Rita Lee, João Gomes — all recast in xote, baião and xaxado. They recorded “Xote das Meninas” for the novela Mar do Sertão and have performed alongside Dominguinhos, Elba Ramalho and Mônica Salmaso. Tonight they invite Mãeana, the carioca artist who coined “pisa nova” — piseiro rhythm with bossa nova intention. The chemistry was immediate when they first met at the Casa in April 2025. This is the second encounter. The Salão becomes a dance floor.

Thursday is when Ó do Borogodó stretches from Wednesday’s 2 am close to 3 am — the first late-night samba session of the week in Pinheiros. The bar on Rua Horácio Lane fills more completely on Thursdays: the regulars who avoided Wednesday’s gentler crowd arrive alongside the weekend-forward audience. The cover may push toward R$30 on busier Thursdays. The sound — samba de raiz, choro, MPB in a room where the musicians are inches from the audience — intensifies with the later hour and the larger crowd. The surrounding Pinheiros streets stay lively for pre-show dining on Mourato Coelho and Aspicuelta.

The Porão goes a different direction tonight. Conde Favela Sexteto, formed in the ABC Paulista, roots its sound in samba-jazz, free jazz and bebop but pushes toward intense improvisation with an identity that pulses with urban creativity. For this show they bring DJ B8 as special guest, celebrating the launch of the EP “Audacioso” — released exclusively on vinyl — which explores the frontier between jazz instrumental and contemporary electronic textures. The combination of six acoustic instruments and a DJ in the underground standing-room Porão creates a density that the space was built for: low ceiling, stone walls, the sound filling every corner. The Blue Note on Avenida Paulista runs its Thursday two-session format with shows at 8 pm and 10:30 pm. Thursday is the third session of the mid-week run and typically one of the stronger curated nights — the March Mês da Mulher series may still be shaping the programming.
