Tonight’s Salão programme is the headline act in a building that has four stages running simultaneously. Hércules Gomes brings his “Solo em Bremen” compositions — choros, sambas, valsas, frevos and maracatus recorded live in Germany — to the Casa’s main seated room. The repertoire includes pieces like Ventos do Morro, Ciclo Pé de Serra, Frevo de Sá and the Gratidões series. The special guest is Nailor Proveta, one of São Paulo‘s most respected clarinetists and saxophonists, whose presence elevates the concert from solo recital to dialogue. This is part of the Casa’s 2ª Mostra de Piano e Suas Criaturas — a curated series exploring the piano’s relationship with Brazilian popular music. The Salão’s seated format, APCA-awarded curatorship and acoustic intimacy make this the most sophisticated option in the city tonight.

The Porão tonight is an arrasta-pé dance floor. Forró do Sapopemba brings the singer Sapopemba alongside sanfoneiro Pablo Moura, baixista Lau Trajano and percussionists Paulla Zeferino and Dido Trajano through the cancioneiro of forró — Luiz Gonzaga, Dominguinhos, Jackson do Pandeiro, Nando Cordel. The underground room heats up fast when the forró starts: standing-room, low ceiling, the sound bouncing off stone walls. The bar on Rua Horácio Lane runs from 9 pm to 2 am with a cover of approximately R$20 and a sound that mixes samba de raiz, choro and MPB in a small, intimate room where the musicians are close enough to touch. Wednesday is the quietest night of the Borogodó’s five-night run (Wed–Sun), which means easier entry, better sightlines and the more conversational atmosphere that the regulars prefer. The surrounding streets in Pinheiros — Mourato Coelho, Aspicuelta — offer pre-show dinner and drinks within walking distance.

The Blue Note on Avenida Paulista runs its standard Wednesday two-session format: shows at 8 pm and 10:30 pm with the Varanda Blue terrace open for pre-show drinks and the lunch programme running earlier in the day. Wednesday at Bar Brahma hits the sweet spot between Tuesday’s calm and the building energy of Thursday through Saturday. The live music set on the grand corner of Av. São João and Av.
