Wednesday restores the city’s two anchor museums after the Tuesday shutdown. The MASP’s triple Histórias Latino-Americanas programme — now five days into its run — is the defining exhibition sequence of the first half of 2026, spanning Pop Andino iconography, Wichí textile traditions and institutional critique of colonial narratives. The Pinacoteca’s Knockout! by Tayou has already drawn strong opening-week crowds across the seven Pina Luz galleries. The CCBB’s Torres García retrospective closed on Sunday — check for transition programming. It’s a cool 21°C day made for museums.

MASP — Histórias Latino-Americanas: Three Shows on View
The MASP’s 2026 programme is anchored in Histórias Latino-Americanas, and three exhibitions now fill the building. Sandra Gamarra Heshiki: réplica presents approximately 80 works questioning the neutrality of museum narratives through colonial-era image appropriation. La Chola Poblete: Pop Andino — the Argentine artist’s first solo in Brazil — fuses pop iconography with Andean cosmology and baroque references. Claudia Alarcón & Silät: Viver Tecendo marks the debut of the Wichí weaving collective in a Brazilian museum, with 25 works in chaguar fibre. All three opened March 6 and run through August 2.

07Community & LifestyleLocal life
The exhibition season settles in. Last week reset the city’s cultural calendar with five major openings in 48 hours — three at the MASP on Friday, three at the Pinacoteca on Saturday. A week in, the opening-day energy has given way to the steadier rhythm of an exhibition season that will run through August. Today is a good day to see both institutions at a calmer pace. The MASP’s three Histórias shows share the Av. Paulista building and can be visited in a single trip; Tayou’s Knockout! at the Pinacoteca demands its own visit — seven galleries is a full afternoon.
Palmeiras after the Paulistão. Palmeiras won their 27th state championship on Sunday, beating Novorizontino 3–1 on aggregate under Abel Ferreira. The squad now turns fully to the Brasileirão, where they lead the table. Thursday brings Vasco v Palmeiras at São Januário in Rio (19h30) — the first post-title Brasileirão fixture. Tonight, Corinthians host Coritiba at the Neo Química Arena (21h30) in their own Round 5 match.
The week’s weather story. Wednesday and Thursday are the coolest stretch — 21–22°C with high rain risk Thursday. The city warms sharply from Friday: 25°C, then 26°C Saturday, then 28°C Sunday with only 15% rain. The weekend is the week’s best outdoor window.
