The calçadão and piano bar open from 5 pm — free entry, the Copacabana oceanfront, the pre-show transition. On Thursdays, the first floor also hosts the Piano Bar Experience — the weekly programme with the house pianists and special guests, R$25 couvert artístico. The Piano Bar runs concurrently with the salão shows, offering an alternative for the evening: intimate piano music with the Copacabana view, without the ticket commitment of the salão above.

Thursday at the Rio Scenarium is when the three-storey casarão on Rua do Lavradio shifts from Wednesday’s gentle midweek energy into the weekend build. The crowd is larger. The sets run later — past 1 am on a busy Thursday. The cover rises to approximately R$30–50. The samba is louder and more physical. The ground floor fills by 9 pm; the upper floors open with their DJs and lounge atmosphere. Thursday is the night when the Scenarium begins to feel like the Scenarium that tourists and guidebooks describe — the full-production spectacle that will reach its peak on Saturday. Thursday at the Carioca da Gema rivals Friday for energy. The colonial room on Av. Mem de Sá fills from early evening, the main show at 8:30 pm plays to a crowd that carries more momentum than Wednesday’s gentler audience. The samba hits harder. The Gema on a Thursday is the starting gun for the Lapa weekend — the night when the Gema-to-Scenarium-to-Beco crawl first becomes viable. Three-minute walk from the Beco. The Circo Voador on Rua dos Arcos — the iconic open-air venue under the Arcos da Lapa — hosts DJ Nexus tonight, adding an electronic dimension to the Lapa corridor. The Circo operates independently from the samba triangle but sits within the same neighbourhood: the acoustic city at the Scenarium, Gema and Beco, the electronic city at the Circo Voador, all within walking distance.
