Brazil Records 2,074,860 People Infected With Novel Coronavirus (July 18th)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Ministry of Health’s epidemiological bulletin, released on Saturday, July 18th, records 2,074,860 registered cases of people infected with the novel coronavirus in Brazil since the start of the pandemic.

Over half of this total, 1,342,362 patients have recovered from Covid-19, a disease that has caused the death of 78,772 Brazilians.

Currently, 647,441 patients are under treatment. In the past 24 hours, the country recorded 28,532 new cases of the disease and 921 deaths.

The states with the most deaths from Covid-19 are São Paulo (19,647), Rio de Janeiro (11,919), Ceará (7,173), Pernambuco (5,928), and Pará (5,478). The states with the lowest number of deaths are Mato Grosso do Sul (216), Tocantins (288), Roraima (429), Acre (457), and Amapá (505).

The states with the most confirmed cases of Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic are São Paulo (412,027), Ceará (146,544), Rio de Janeiro (135,230), Pará (136,947), and Bahia (120,238). The states with the fewest recorded infections are Mato Grosso do Sul (16,006), Tocantins (17,209), Acre (17,202), Roraima (25,373), and Rondônia (29,117).
