Ukraine asks Latin American countries to condemn Russia’s invasion

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba called on Latin American governments to continue condemning Russia’s invasion of Ukrainian territory.

The declaration took place on Thursday, 11 when Kuleba visited Guatemala.

“Condemning Russia’s aggression and supporting the position of President Volodymyr Zelensky is the way to promote peace in Ukraine,” Kuleba told a news conference at Guatemala’s National Palace in Guatemala City.

The minister also called for the support of Latin American nations in creating an international tribunal to try war crimes committed during the confrontation.

Finally, the foreign minister emphasized that countries that remain neutral concerning the conflict are not collaborating with restoring peace in Ukraine.

So far, according to United Nations (UN) estimates, more than 7,000 civilians have died in the confrontation, including 437 children.

This Friday, 12, Kuleba will participate in the fourth summit of the Association of Caribbean States (AEC) in Guatemala.
