RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Datafolha survey on municipal succession also pointed to the disastrous administration of Marcelo Crivella. In October 2017, the mayor’s administration was considered bad or terrible by 40 percent of respondents.
This percentage rose to 61 percent in March 2018. In the current survey, 72 percent negatively evaluated the administration, points out the report by Ítalo Nogueira.
A licensed bishop of the Universal Church, the mayor also has his administration rejected by the majority of evangelicals, although at a lower level. In this group, 56 percent evaluate the municipal government as bad or very bad. Among neopentecostals (a group that includes the Universal faithful), the poor rating falls to 49 percent.
45 percent gave a zero score to the municipal administration. Crivella’s government is considered excellent/good by 8 percent of those interviewed, while 20 percent evaluate it as only fair. One percent said they did not know.
Evangelical Crivella was also the one ordering inspectors to remove comic book from stands at Rio’s International Book Fair in September 2019, calling the publication unfit to be seen by children and unsuitable for minors.
The Marvel Comic Book the mayor criticized, The Avengers – The Children’s Crusade, shows two adult male characters, Wiccano and Hulking, kissing. In the plot the two are boyfriends and have a stable relationship. Both characters were clothed.
