RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Federal Treasury started to pay the second round of refunds of Personal Income Tax (IRPF) 2019 on Monday, July 15th, as well as residual refunds from 2008 to 2018.
R$5 billion (US$1.3 billion) will be deposited to 3,164,229 taxpayers. Of this total, R$2,362,514,597.42 refers to the restitution of 15,489 elderly taxpayers over 80 years old, 197,895 taxpayers between sixty and 79 years old, 24,793 taxpayers with some physical or mental disability or serious illness, and 1,251,906 taxpayers whose primary source of income is the teaching profession.

The Federal Treasury also provides an app for tablets and smartphones that enables easy access to IRPF declarations and CPF registration status.
The refund will be available in the bank for one year.
The money will be deposited into the accounts declared on the tax returns. Taxpayers who do not receive a refund need to visit any Banco do Brasil branch or call 4004-0001 (capitals), 0800-729-0001 (other locations) and 0800-729-0088 (special phone for the hearing impaired) to access the payment.
