Son of Famous Brazilian TV Presenter Suffers Accident

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – One of the sons of TV host Luciano Huck and Angélica suffered an accident while practicing wakeboard in the bay of Ilha Grande, in Angra dos Reis, Rio de Janeiro, Saturday afternoon, June 22nd. Benício, 11, is hospitalized in the Copa Star Hospital, in the south zone of Rio, after arriving by helicopter together with his family.

According to Luciano Huck, his son has had surgery and is doing well. On a social network, the host said that “to avoid the conflicting information already flowing, our son, Benício, had an accident practicing wakeboard yesterday afternoon in the bay of Ilha Grande.” The couple has two other children.

According to Huck, Benício is being assisted by doctor João Pantoja, together with Gabriel Mufaref’s team of neurosurgeons, and pediatrician Andrêa Paiva, who has been following Benício for years.

“We thank you for the many prayers and expressions of affection,” Angélica and Luciano Huck sign the announcement.

Copa Star Hospital said it is not permitted to give out information regarding the patient’s health condition.

The wakeboard is a water sport practiced on a board towed by a speedboat. This practice is widespread all over the world, including in Brazil.

Luciano Huck is a Brazilian TV host and entrepreneur. Since 2000 he has hosted the TV show Caldeirão do Huck, aired every Saturday on Brazilian network Rede Globo, and also broadcast to 114 countries, via Globo International.

His weekly TV show is followed every Saturday by more than 18 million persons, and he has over 21 million followers on his Social Media accounts.
