Brazilian Foreign Minister arrives in Bolivia to discuss bilateral agenda

The Bolivian Government informed that on Wednesday night, the Brazilian Foreign Minister, Mauro Vieira, landed in the country’s capital to begin an official visit to discuss issues of the bilateral agenda and regional integration.

According to the head of Brazil’s foreign policy agenda, Mauro Vieira will meet this Thursday with his Bolivian counterpart, Rogelio Mayta, where they will discuss the bilateral and multilateral agenda.

At the end of the meeting, both foreign ministers will hold a joint press conference in mid-morning at the Bolivian Foreign Ministry headquarters.

Afterward, they will visit President Luis Arce and meet with Vice President David Choquehuanca and the head of the Chamber, Jerges Mercado.

The Bolivian government has expressed its political affinity with President Lula da Silva, who had former President Evo Morales as an ally in his first two terms.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, bilateral relations with Brazil have gained new momentum with the arrival of Lula da Silva to the Brazilian presidency.

Bilateral mechanisms between both countries include authorities’ visits, “binational security cabinets, border committees and other commissions and technical working groups.”
