Argentina registers almost 300% inflation during Fernández’s term

The Peronist president of Argentina, Alberto Fernández, has indicated that combating the country’s high inflation (92.4% year-on-year in November) is the “most difficult” task for the Government, but he has assured that they will continue working on his Government so that Argentines “do not fall into poverty” in the next year.

Last December 10 marked the 3rd anniversary of the arrival to power of the leftist president, who according to the consulting firm EcoGo in that period has registered an economic management that refers to an accumulated inflation of 299%.

Specifically, this year has been the one that has accumulated the highest inflation in Argentina in its first 11 months since 1991.

Regarding the measures to be applied, Fernández has stated that inflation could be combated with “shocks,” but this would imply that a greater number of inhabitants would face a situation of poverty.

In turn, the president has mentioned the opportunities that Argentina has to face this inflation, among which he has highlighted job creation, increased investment or economic growth above 6%.
