Covid-19: Brazil Counts 130,000 Deaths and 4.28 Million Cumulative Cases (September 11th)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Ministry of Health’s daily balance on Friday, September 11th, reported a total of 130,396 deaths by Covid-19 since the start of the pandemic.

In the past 24 hours, there were 874 new records of deaths as a result of the disease. On Thursday, the system counted 129,522 deaths. There are further 2,467 deaths under investigation.

The number of infections since the start of the pandemic has reached 4,282,164. Between Thursday and Friday, the state Health Secretariats reported 43,718 new positive diagnoses of infection by the novel coronavirus. On Thursday, the Ministry of Health’s panel reported 4,238,446 cumulative cases.

Still according to the update, 621,113 people are in follow-up and another 3,530,655 have already recovered.

Covid-19 in the States

São Paulo is the Brazilian state with the highest number of deaths (32,338), followed by Rio de Janeiro (16,883), Ceará (8,666), Pernambuco (7,817), and Pará (6,299).

Roraima records the lowest number of deaths as a result of the novel coronavirus (609). Acre is next (636), Amapá (677), Tocantins (784), and Mato Grosso do Sul (1,035).
