RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil on Tuesday reported 1,333 new deaths from Covid-19, bringing the total number of fatalities from the disease in the country to 551,835, the Health Ministry said.
There were also 41,411 new cases of coronavirus reported, bringing the total number of confirmed infections in the country to 19,749,073.
According to Statista, the leading German company specializing in market and consumer data, Brazil ranks fifth in Latin America for deaths per million in the last seven days. It is better positioned than Colombia, Paraguay, Cuba, and Argentina.
In terms of total deaths per million, Brazil ranks among the ten most affected nations, such as Peru, Hungary, the Czech Republic, Colombia, Argentina, Italy, Belgium, and other European countries.
The country has seen a reduction in pandemic numbers in recent weeks.
