Covid -19: Brazil registers 17,893 new cases and 530 deaths (October 6)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil on Wednesday (6) reported 530 new deaths from Covid-19, bringing the total number of fatalities from the disease in the country to 599,359, the Health Ministry said.

There were also 17,893 new coronavirus cases, with the total of confirmed infections in the country advancing to 21,516,967, the folder added.

The federal government still reports 362,672 Covid-19 patients in follow-up.

According to Statista, the leading German company specializing in market and consumer data, Brazil ranks eight in Latin America for deaths per million in the last seven days. It is better positioned than Cuba, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, and Honduras. Worldwide, it ranks 39th.
