Brazil records 36,473 new cases and 876 Covid deaths (September 22)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – The Ministry of Health released a balance sheet on Wednesday, 22, with the numbers of the pandemic of Covid-19 in Brazil, according to data from state health secretariats.

The country has 592,316 deaths and 21,283,567 confirmed cases of the disease.

The balance, updated at 7 pm, shows that 876 victims and 36,473 new cases for the coronavirus were registered in the period of one day.

The moving average, which accounts for the number of deaths in the last week, is 531. The average number of cases is 35,565.

According to Statista, the leading German company specializing in market and consumer data, Brazil ranks eight in Latin America for deaths per million in the last seven days. It is better positioned than Cuba, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Paraguay, and Argentina. Worldwide, it ranks 37th.
