Brazil Records 3.8 Million Coronavirus Cases (August 30th)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Yesterday, August 30th, the Ministry of Health released new figures for the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic in the country.

According to a daily assessment conducted by the portfolio, Brazil counts 3,862,311 confirmed cases of the disease and 120,828 recorded deaths.

The number of recovered cases totals 3,031,559.

In the past 24 hours, the Ministry has registered 16,158 new cases and 566 deaths.

The state of São Paulo has the highest number of cumulative cases since the start of the pandemic, with 803,404 infections and 29,978 deaths.

Next are the states of Bahia (256,062 cases and 5,344 deaths), Rio de Janeiro (223,302 cases and 16,027 deaths), and Minas Gerais (215,050 cases and 5,326 deaths).

According to the Ministry of Health, 2,772 cases are still under investigation.
