Brazil records 10,615 cases and 293 Covid deaths (September 12)

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – Brazil on Sunday reported 293 new deaths from Covid-19, bringing the total number of fatalities from the disease in the country to 586,851, the Health Ministry said.

There were also 10,615 new coronavirus cases, with the total number of infections in the country advancing to 20,999,779, the folder added.

The federal government still reports 362,457 Covid-19 patients in follow-up.

According to Statista, the leading German company specializing in market and consumer data, Brazil ranks eight in Latin America for deaths per million in the last seven days. It is better positioned than Cuba, Mexico, Costa Rica, Guatemala, Honduras, Paraguay, and Argentina. Worldwide, it ranks 37th.
