Protests in Brazil: Bolsonaro supporters in São Paulo demonstrate with signs in English

RIO DE JANEIRO, BRAZIL – In the pro-Bolsonaro protest that took over Sâo Paulo’s emblematic Avenida Paulista on Tuesday, September 7, many supporters invested in posters with messages in English. It was also possible to find messages in Italian, Spanish, and other languages.

The lawyer Luiz Antonio dos Santos chose a message against the Supreme Court STF, one of the central themes of the demonstration, by criticizing the so-called “dictatorship of the toga”.

“It is a communication to the world. The foreign community needs to become aware of what is happening here. The US is vital, but it is something for the world to know,” he said.

On the posters, there were also texts like “no communism”, “auditable printed vote,” and “we, the people, support president Bolsonaro”.

Demonstrators have been gathering on Avenida Paulista since before 10 AM.
