Russian Foreign Minister to visit Brazil with 5-ton secret cargo

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov will visit Brasília next Monday (17) with an entourage of 18 security and intelligence officials.

Diplomatic representatives from countries allied with Ukraine in the war against Russia are annoyed by the situation.

The cause is the diplomatic baggage of the entourage.

The Russians will arrive in Brazil with a 5-ton shipment, classified as secret.

For now, the shipment is in Argentina, in an Ilyushin IL-76 aircraft of the Russian Aerospace Forces.

The Brazilian government does not have access to the contents of the cargo since diplomatic bags and luggage cannot be inspected.

However, Senate Foreign Relations and National Defense Committee members intend to request information from Itamaraty.

Lavrov’s visit was arranged during a meeting with Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira in India during the G20 meeting in March.

After the event, the Russian minister met in Moscow with Celso Amorim, advisor to President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva for foreign policy.

After Brazil, the Russian chancellor is expected to visit Venezuela and Cuba, according to information from the Folha de S. Paulo newspaper.
