The Federal Supreme Court (STF) is holding a public hearing on Tuesday and Wednesday (28-29) to debate the Civil Rights Framework for the Internet (Marco Civil da Internet).

There are 2 cases in progress at the Court related to the liability of digital platforms for user content.

Superior Electoral Court TSE

At the TSE (Superior Electoral Court), the ministers will judge on Tuesday (28) the case against the most-voted congressman in Brazil, the rising star in the conservative camp, Nikolas Ferreira (PL).

During the 2022 campaign, Lula’s coalition asked for the suspension of a video published on the congressman’s social networks with allegedly “untruthful” information against the PT.

Moraes granted the request.

Economy

In the economic field, the Central Bank (BC) is releasing on Tuesday (28) the minutes of the meeting of the Copom (Monetary Policy Committee), held on March 22, which maintained the basic interest rate, the Selic, at 13.75% per year.

Meanwhile, the IBGE (Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics) publishes the unemployment rate for February.

And on Thursday (30), the Central Bank will present its Quarterly Inflation Report. Afterward, the President of the monetary authority, Roberto Campos Neto, will speak to journalists.

He has been trying to calm the conflict with the government and clarify the risks that keep the Selic at a high level.

It is possible that based on what Campos Neto will say, however balanced he may be, the attacks from the government will intensify.
