Brazil: Lula da Silva creates his own Ministry of Truth

The Attorney General’s Office (AGU) of Brazil created the unprecedented National Prosecutor for the Defense of Democracy in the country.

The announcement was made by the new Minister of the portfolio, Jorge Messias, this Tuesday, June 3.

After Jair Messias Bolsonaro, the left now has its own Messias, and he will tell Brazilians what is true and what is not.

He also stated that Brazil will now have the National Prosecutor of the Union for the Defense of the Environment and Climate.

The purpose is very clear: according to the Minister, the prosecution will adopt measures in response to everything it deems “disinformation”.

In practice, the Executive can participate in something similar to the Federal Supreme Court (STF) and the Superior Electoral Court (TSE): a kind of court on what can or cannot be said in Brazil.

“By taking over the AGU, I hope to make a decisive contribution to the rescue of our democracy, with the resumption of harmony between the Powers of the Republic. Attacks on officials will no longer be tolerated,” he said.

The Minister also stated that the people “knew how to put Brazil back on the path of democracy” and that there was “political persecution, censorship and constant attacks on democratic institutions” in the Bolsonaro government.

“Only a few times in our history have we witnessed constant attacks and threats to the pillars of our democracy,” he said. The phrase could even be interpreted as a reference to the Brazilian Judiciary, but he was referring to the Jair Bolsonaro government.

He cited “disrespect for human rights, political persecution, censorship, constant attacks on democratic institutions, the dismantling of public policies, denialism as a method, incitement to hatred and prejudice.”

“TO CURE BRAZIL”

Flávio Dino, Minister of Justice and Public Security, said this Tuesday, June 3, that he will send a letter to Justice Rosa Weber, president of the Federal Supreme Court (STF), making the Federal Police available to investigate episodes of aggression and threats against Justices.

“I will send an official letter to the president of the STF stressing that the Federal Police is available to investigate episodes of aggression and threats against Justices of that court and others. They are anti-democratic extremists, who persecute magistrates in the streets, airports, restaurants, etc,” he said.

Dino’s decision is a response to a demonstration that occurred today at Miami Airport (USA), where people harassed Supreme Justice Luís Roberto Barroso.

“It is a mixture of hatred, ignorance, anti-democratic spirit and lack of education. Brazil got sick. I hope that we can cure him and that a spiritual light illuminates these people,” said the STF Justice.
