The governor-elect of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), chose the former special advisor of the Ministry of Economy Jorge Luiz Lima to head the secretary of Economic Development of São Paulo.
Lima acted in the advisory of the Minister of Economy Paulo Guedes between 2021 and 2022.
Before that, he was national secretary for the Development of Industry, Commerce, Services and Innovation and coordinated a project to reduce the so called Brazil Cost.
He is the fifth name linked to Guedes who should assume a secretariat in São Paulo. Also chosen by Tarcísio were the president of Petrobras, Caio Paes de Andrade (Digital Management and Government), the current head of the Foreign Trade Secretariat of the Ministry of Economy, Lucas Ferraz (International Affairs), and economist Samuel Kinoshita (Finance and Planning ). Guilherme Afif, current coordinator of the transition and former adviser to the Minister of Economy, should also assume a position in the São Paulo administration.
In his personal profile on Linkedin, the future secretary lists several companies in which he acted as CEO or manager, among them are ISS Brasil, Grupo Semco, AGV Logística Saúde, BRF and JSL. He is currently vice-president of Grupo H, a fintech specializing in credit.
Lima was also on the board of companies such as Caixa, Empresa Brasileira de Comunicações and the National Service for Industrial Learning.
